Development co-operation project with Afghanistan in strengthening of rule of law [19 Jun 2010]

On 14-18 June, the Foreign Ministry in co-operation with the State Police College carried out a development co-operation project with Afghanistan in the field of strengthening the rule of law.

Four senior officials and an investigative prosecutor from the Criminal Police Department of the Faryab province of Afghanistan made an experience exchange visit to Riga. The representatives of Afghanistan acquired additional knowledge in the field of criminal investigation and discussed the specific features of routine work in Latvia and Afghanistan when visiting their colleagues at the State Police.

The representatives of Afghanistan expressed interest to continue the co-operation established, strengthening the international co-operation and professional capacity of the Afghan National Police, thus advancing the rule of law reforms in Afghanistan.
