Foreign Ministry Political Directors from e-PINE countries meet in Riga [07 Jun 2010] |

On 4 June in Riga, the consultations of the e-PINE (Enhanced Partnership in Northern Europe) take place chaired by Andris Razāns, Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia. The discussions are to be held concerning developments in Iran, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, and South Caucasus countries. Invited to participate at the meeting are the Foreign Ministry Political Directors from Estonia, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania, and the U.S. The e-PINE partnership was launched in 2003 as a continuation of the U.S.-Baltic Partnership Charter a broader scale, with the aim of enhancing the mechanism of mutual consultations among the U.S., and the Baltic and Nordic countries. The e-PINE format involves the organisation of regular 8+1 consultations (the Baltic states, Nordic countries, and the USA) for political directors, where joint discussions are held on regional and international topics of current importance. The previous e-PINE meeting of political directors took place on 5 November in Washington. | |||||
