Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins to meet Minister of State of Foreign Ministry of Germany

On 12 January, Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins will meet with the Minister of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Cornelia Pieper, who arrives on a working visit to Latvia. During the meting, the parties plan to discuss bilateral co-operation as well as partnership at the regional level.

In the Foreign Ministry of Germany, Ms Pieper is in charge of regional co-operation with Eastern Europe, and heads the Department of Culture and Communications.

Latvia and Germany sustain an active and constructive bilateral political dialogue at all levels. The relations between both countries are characterised by an active exchange of bilateral visits, dynamic economic relations, close interparliamentary contacts, close co-operation with federal lands, as well as broad co-operation between various institutions.
