Ambassador-at-large Artis Pabriks to take part at Beld Strategic Forum [28 Aug 2010]

On 29-30 August, Ambassador-at-large and former foreign minister Dr. Artis Pabriks represents Foreign Minister Aivis Ronis at the Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia that for the fourth year now brings together top political leaders, academics, business executives, and the media form various regions of the world, as well as officials from international organisations.

This year's discussions at the Bled Strategic Forum focus on the most vital challenges of the next decade, including energy and economic revival. During the forum, opinions will also be exchanged about the role of the European Union in a multipolar world.

In 2008, the then prime minister Ivars Godmanis also took part at the Bled Strategic Forum.

As reported earlier, Ambassador-at-large and former foreign minister Georgs Andrejevs represented the Foreign Minister Aivis Ronis at the High Level Democracy Meeting on 2-4 July in Kraków, Poland, but Ambassador-at-large and former foreign minister Māris Riekstiņš, for his part, was on a visit to Georgia on 16-18 August, where he met with the Georgian Foreign Minister.
