Baltic and Nordic Political Directors meet before ministerial meeting in Riga [26 Aug 2010]

On 26 August, prior to the Baltic and Nordic (NB8) Foreign Ministers Meeting in Riga, NB8 Foreign Ministry political directors have convened for a meeting, chaired by the Latvian Foreign Ministry Political Director Andris Razāns.

The political directors will prepare the foreign ministers' discussion on the co-operation perspective between the Baltic and Nordic countries. Co-operation proposals have been developed by two high level representatives from Latvia and Denmark - former Latvian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Valdis Birkavs and former Danish Minister of Defence Søren Gade, both authorized for the task by NB8 foreign ministers.

Duirng the meeting, the NB8 political directors also intend to debate other foreign policy and security policy matters of current importance for the NB8 region.
