On 29 July in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Latvia-Russia Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on co-operation in the economic, research and technological, humanitarian and cultural field will convene for its third meeting, as agreed on 25 June in St. Petersburg by co-chairmen of the IGC – the Minister of Economy of Latvia, Artis Kampars, and the Minister of Transport of Russia, Igor Levitin. Regular activity by the IGC facilitates constructive development of practical co-operation between Latvia and Russia, and also promotes good overall relations between the countries. On 28 July, prior to the meeting of the IGC, there will be sessions of the Working Groups on Economic Co-operation and on Humanitarian Co-operation, as well as meetings of co-chairmen and individual experts from the Working Group on Co-operation in Transport. The above listed sessions will discuss in detail all the points on the IGC agenda and will draft decisions for the IGC's 29 July meeting. The Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Igor Levitin, will arrive in Latvia on 28 July and, as part of his working visit, will meet the Prime Minister of Latvia, Valdis Dombrovskis, and the Minister of Transport, Artis Kampars.
