Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins has expressed his sincerest condolences to the French people regarding the loss of lives of the ten French soldiers on 19 August in Afghanistan. The Minister expressed his condolences to the Foreign Minister of France, Bernard Kouchner, during the today`s meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers.
Maris Riekstins expressed condolences to all the relatives of the soldiers who lost their lives and expressed his gratitude to France for its contribution in maintaining peace within the framework of various missions.
France lost ten soldiers who were serving in the NATO International Security Assistance Force in a battle with Taliban fighters near Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.
