On 14 August, Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins will meet with Jurriaan Kraak, the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Latvia. The Ambassador and the Foreign Minister are to review bilateral relations between Latvia and the Netherlands in the future perspective, the priorities of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and also topical issues of international policy.
Until recently Mr. Kraak was Head of the EU Enlargement Section at the Permanent Representation of the Netherlands to the European Union. During his diplomatic career Mr. Kraak has worked at the Permanent Mission of the Netherlands to NATO, as well as the embassies in Harare (Zimbabwe), Mexico City (Mexico), Paris (France) and in Consulates-General in Sao Paulo (Brazil) and in Toronto (Canada).
