Documentary film by Kaspars Goba receives award at international film festival in Slovakia

On 26 October 2007, as reported by the Embassy of Latvia in Vienna, a documentary film entitled Engure. Juras davatais ezers (Lake Engure - a gift from the sea) by Latvian film director Kaspars Goba has won an award at the international Ekotopfilm festival in Bratislava, Slovakia.

This 34th annual festival in Slovakia showcases sustainable development and climate protection issues. The festival's main award was presented to Italy; works by filmmakers from the U.S., Germany, France, Poland, China, India and several other countries also received awards. The international event was opened on 22 October and was concluded today with an official awards ceremony in the town hall of the Slovak capital.
