On 21 June 2005, the Entrepreneurs Club was established at the Embassy of Latvia to Russia. At the opening event, the Latvian Ambassador to Russia, Andris Teikmanis, emphasized the Embassy's readiness to assist and support the Latvian entrepreneurs who do their business in Russia. He noted, however, that a successful operation of the Entrepreneurs Club depends on how active the entrepreneurs themselves are. Representatives of different Russian state institutions will be invited to the meetings of the Club on a regular basis in order to acquaint them with the current events in their area of operation as, for example, customs and tax policy. Participating in the foundation event were representatives from a number of Latvian companies: "Dzintars", "Baltic Style", FIB Group", Aizkraukles banka", airBaltic", and "Ventspils naftas terminals".
