Germany acquainted with investment opportunities in Latvia [22 Jun 2005]

On 21 June 2005 in Reinbeck bei Hamburg, the Department of Economy and Labour of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg organized a discussion "Zukunft der Jobs – Jobs der Zukunft" ("The Future of Jobs – the Future Jobs"). Participating in the discussion were the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Finance of the Federal Land of Schleswig-Holstein, Klaus Schlie; the Ambassador of Latvia to Germany, Dr. Martins Virsis; a Member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) of the German Bundestag, Claus-Eduard von Bismarck; and the German entrepreneurs and representatives of the institutions dealing with investment facilitation.

In his address to the audience, the Latvian Ambassador told about the investment environment and tourism development in Latvia, and stressed the close economic co-operation between Latvia and Germany attested by the visit of the Latvian Minister of Economy, Dr. Arturs Krisjanis Karins, to Hamburg on May 11 of this year.
