The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia has received the letter of the Polish society in Latvia, which was sent to the Polish American Congress and the Polish unions and organisations in the USA. The letter expresses support of the Polish society to the foreign policy priorities of Latvia âÀ“ membership in NATO and the European Union, pointing out that the only way to ensure irreversibility of the regained statehood and stability prospects is full integration in the free and united Europe. In its letter, the Polish community of Latvia calls for support to inviting Latvia and the Baltic States to the North Atlantic Alliance and contribution to formation of a favourable stance of the United States of America towards admission of the Baltic States. The leader of the Polish diaspora in the USA Mr Jan Novak-Jezioranski has replied to the Polish community of Latvia confirming in his letter the readiness of the Polish population of the USA to join efforts with the compatriots in Latvia in order to promote accession of the Baltic States to NATO. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia highly appreciates the support expressed by the Polish population of Latvia and the USA to the integration of Latvia in the Euro-Atlantic structures.
