First ISO 9001 quality management system certification institution accredited in Latvia
On 15 February 2007, the Director of the Latvian National Accreditation Bureau, Edmunds Belskis, presented a certificate of accreditation to the management of Inspecta Latvia. The enterprise has become the first certification institution of the quality management system ISO 9001 to be accredited in Latvia.
Although quality management systems in Latvia have already been certified for more than a decade, only now has the first certification institution been accredited in Latvia. This offers wider possibilities of choice and additional certainty for enterprises which have already implemented the quality management system in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard and which want to certify it.
The quality management system is an effective instrument providing the opportunity to raise the quality of products and services offered by improving enterprise operations.
Currently there are more than 600 enterprises in Latvia which have certified their quality management system according to the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001, and the number of such enterprises continues to increase every year.
