Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins: securing ceasefire in Georgia is a priority [13 Aug 2008]
On 13 August, Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins took part at an extraordinary meeting of the EU General Affairs and External Relations Council (GAERC) in Brussels. On the agenda were the current events in Georgia, and EU involvement in the resolution of the military conflict in Georgia.
Foreign Minister to encourage discussion on future EU-Russia relations at GAERC meeting [12 Aug 2008]
On 13 August Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins will take part at an extraordinary GAERC meeting in Brussels, where discussions will take place about the current situation in Georgia and a co-ordinated EU response to the Russian military offensive in Georgia, which has been already drawn condemnation from Latvia, as well as from other states.

On 13 August in Brussels, Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins will participate in an extraordinary meeting of the General Affairs and External Relation Council, where the current situation in Georgia will be discussed and the point of view of the EU will be co-ordinated in relation to Russia's military offensive in Georgia, which has already drawn the condemnation of Latvia and other countries.
