Anita Ušacka
International Criminal Court, judge.
In 2003 Ms. Ušacka was elected to one of the 18 posts of judges at International Criminal Court (ICC) for a period of 3 years. In 2006 she was re-elected for a period of 9 years. Ms. Ušacka is the only judge coming from an Eastern European country assigned to ICC Trial Division. She is also active in the institutional formation of the court and enhancing of its legal capacity.
Until 2003 Ms. Ušacka was a judge at the Constitutional Court of Latvia. She has also held the post of the executive director of UNICEF Latvian National Committee. Ms. Ušacka has specialised in international humanitarian and public law, especially the rights of women and children.

Uldis Ķinis
In 1993 the International Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia started to work in the Hague. In 2005 Mr. Ķinis - the former Chairman of Kuldīga District Court was elected judge ad litem of the tribunal for four years.

Zigrīds Aumeistars
Mr. Aumeisters - the Director of the Patent Office of the Republic of Latvia was elected Vice-chairman of the General Assembly of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) from 2001 – 2004 and from 2006 – 2007. From 2004 - 2006 he was elected Vice-chairman of Paris Union for Protection of Industrial Property.

Andris Leitass
Mr. Leitass - the Director of the Hydro Meteorological Agency of Latvia (HMAL) was elected Vice-president of the Regional Association VI (Europe) of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) in 2004. Major Western European, Scandinavian and other countries of the region supported the nomination of Mr. Leitass. The Director of HMAL is the permanent representative of Latvia in WMO.

Jānis Kārkliņš
Mr. Kārkliņš - Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Latvia to the United Nations Office in Geneva was appointed the President of the Preparatory Commission for the 2nd phase of the World Summit on the Information Society that took place in Tunisia in November 2005.

UN Commission on Human Rights
In 1999 Latvia was elected to the Bureau of the Commission on Human Rights. Mr. Romāns Baumanis - Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Latvia to UN in Geneva represented Latvia in the Bureau of the Commission on Human Rights.
