WHO OFFICE AND WHO INFORMATION AND DOCUMENTATION CENTRE
At the moment the World Health Organisation has Country Office in Latvia. WHO works in co-operation with the government of the country and the leading co-operation partner of WHO in Latvia is the Ministry of Health. WHO Country Office in Latvia functions as a direct link between WHO Regional Office for Europe and Latvia.
In autumn 2004 WHO Co-operation Centre for Research on Multi-resistant Tuberculosis was opened in the Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases Centre. The opening of the centre is the first input of Latvia into the development co-operation by providing support to the specialists of other countries.
Since 1991 there is WHO Information and Documentation Centre opened in Riga Stradins University (e-mail: pvodk@rsu.lv). Everybody can find information about the most topical issues of the human health in the world.
