UNESCO NATIONAL COMMISSION OF LATVIA
UNESCO Latvian National Commission is working in Latvia since 1994. It is an independent institution of the Republic of Latvia whose tasks are to prepare the recommendations to the Saeima and Cabinet of Ministers on UNESCO activities, to promote participation of Latvia's youth, teachers, representatives of the creative professions, scientists, employees of the state and municipal institutions in UNESCO programmes and events, to develop and strengthen the relations with other countries by implementing common projects and securing that Latvia is represented in international events, conferences, seminars and research projects. Also the permanent mission of Latvia to UNESCO in Paris co-operates with UNESCO.
