Within the project, Moldovan experts learned about the organization of the Latvian Prison Administration, visited the Probation Service and several prisons. Issues about prisoners' social rehabilitation and improvement of security of penitentiary institutions were discussed. Special attention was paid to the personnel training of Moldovan penitentiary institutions; with the co-financing of CIDA, the Moldovan Training Centre was provided with computers. |

Support to Moldova in collection of customs duties and improvement of transparency of the Moldovan Customs Service |

The Latvian MFA supported participation of three Moldovan representatives of public institutions in the Summer School on public administration. Two Latvian experts participated in the conference with presentations on Latvia's EU integration experience. The conference was organized by the Moldovan MFA and the British embassy to Moldova.
